What is the best New Year's Eve activity? Having your grandkids sleepover, of course. We had a great time. The kids played with the magnets and their silly bands, drew pictures. Jen got a new game for the Wii. That was a big hit. Then we put on funny hats and blew horns and whistles and popped open poppers. Then it was time for ice cream and bed.
Jen and I went to Kaylee's first dance recital. It was held at the studio (this was the Christmas practice for the big recital in May). Her class was dressed as ladybugs and one of the songs that they danced to was "Don't wake the ladybugs". So cute! She was great. She did all the dances and all the warm ups and was the first one to be spotlighted....All by herself she did a tippity-toe-turn, a plie, a tendu, and a curtsey. She was wonderful. The best and littlest one. And that is not just a proud grandma talking....her WHOLE family thought so.
Reid and I moved to our current house in Bountiful, Utah in 1996. Aimee had just graduated from Woods Cross High was about to go to Utah State. She went there for a semester then transferred to BYU and graduated in English. Melissa was about to start her junior year at Woods Cross High. She graduated, then went to Beauty School and then went to Weber State. Jennifer was going into the 6th grade, then to Centerville Junior and on to Viewmont High School. After graduation, she attended the DATC and took classes in video editing and HTML. Aimee married Trent Augustus in 1998 and now have three beautiful children and our first three grandkids. They live in Cedar Hills in the second house that Trent built for them. Melissa married Michael Hurst in 2006. They live in Farmington and now have a cat. Jennifer has a great job at Chase Bank and owns her own business -- In Frame Videos -- she does wedding and event videos and wedding and family photography. Reid works for L-3 Communications and as an on-call camera and jib operator for many shows. I am still an on-call producer for the church.
